Capacity learning

We are learning about capacity

Our challenge was to work out how many milliliters were in each container

We knew
1 cup = 250mLs
1/2 cup = 125 mLs
15 mLs = tablespoon
5 mLs = teaspoon

We used the measuring equipment to add up amounts until the container was full.
Jerome and Toby problem solved and made a funnel out of paper
to get the beans in a sauce bottle to measure it.

The Ovals were scientists with some blood. They had blood and had to subtract mLs of blood. They used eye droppers to measure the mLs.

Henrietta solved 32 divided by 4 by
finding half of 32 and then half of 16
=8.
Caitlyn has 32mLs to divide into
4 containers. She tried 6+6+6+6 and
then added 2 more to each container
32 divided by 4=8
The Pentagons and Crescents had some alien slime that they needed to divide into different containers. They had to count the mLs carefully to make sure the same amount of slime was in each container.

Faith calculating 27 mLs shared
into 3 containers
Mya and Sharie measuring in mLs

Emma showing determination
to solve 24mLs shared into
4 containers. She tried 5 in each
container and then added 1 more.
The Kidd-li-winks made up their own potions

The potions would explode if
-Any one of the ingredients was 100 mLs
-If the whole potion was not exactly 600 mLs
-If there were not 6 ingredients
-If the ingredients were not measured accurately
