Shopping

We have had the New World Little Shops in our room and the children have been playing shops with them each morning. For maths we decided to create a shop to practice adding tens and ones. We had grocery hampers to buy.

We had blank money and could create any notes we chose.

We took turns at being the shop keeper and checking people were paying the right amount for their groceries.

Toby paid for his grocery hamper. Did he pay the right amount of money?

Neesha is double checking she has the right amount of money to pay for her groceries.

  1. Wow, Room 8, you are really working hard to count up how much money you have to buy your grocery items. My groceries cost $185 this week. I wonder if you could help me work out how many $10 notes I would need for this. Mrs R
