Caterpillar changes into chrysalis

We have swan plants in Room 8 and caterpillars that have been eating them very quickly. Last week we had a caterpillar change into a chrysalis in our game cupboard and another caterpillar change into its chrysalis while we were asleep at night.
Today we were very very lucky because we saw the caterpillar change into a chrysalis. It was something new for all of us to see.

In the holidays Mrs H was lucky enough to film the caterpillar change into a chrysalis. The whole change takes about 6 minutes. Here are the videos for you to see how it happens.

Sorry it is around the wrong way. I could not figure out how to turn the video around.

  1. I loved watching this video! It is amazing to watch the caterpillar change into the chrysalis. I am going to take my plant to school for room 15 children. Hopefully we get to see this happen too!

  2. What an amazing thing to have caught on video. It is amazing how the caterpillar sheds it's skin and underneath is the chrysalis!
