Patterns

We have been learning about patterns.
We had to look carefully at the patterns to see what we noticed.

There are 6 sticks to build 1 house and 5 sticks to build the other houses.
How can we work out how many sticks are used?
How many sticks to build 10 houses?
5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50+1=51

Zane and Thomas worked together to figure out how many
sticks they would need to build 10 mountains.

Thinking together
4x3=12
12+1=13
so
10x3=30
30+1=31
What times table can we use to work this out?

Mya explaining how she worked out how many sticks
she would need to build 15 houses.
She showed how she could use the same thinking
to build any number of houses.
Here are some games you can play to practise your learning about patterns. Just click on the link.
